Few days ago me and my friend stumbled upon a Chinese music orchestra video clips. Which is 龙腾虎跃 (in English: Flying Dragons and Jumping Tigers), a famous Chinese percussion orchestra music. It was conducted by maestro Yan Hui-Chang 阎惠昌 and soloed by Chinese percussion master Yim Hok-Man 阎学敏.
Please enjoy the video below:
.
He then reminded me that I used to perform the same music shown above also… then I started to share with him what I did 9 years ago. Wow! 9 freaking years ago…
.
Then I realized it was happened at 5th May 2001, exactly 9 years ago!
Video below was shared by my friend Papaya 3 years ago! I never finished watching this video before because I felt irritated. But when my friend reminded me about this event a few days ago, it poured out all my secondary school memories.
(this video was taken 5th May 2001 , at Petaling Jaya Civic Center)
.
I didn’t watch the entire video, but I listen! it makes me think………hmm….
compare the current me and the baby FireMice 9 years ago in the vid. I think the baby FireMice 9 years ago was very serious (not-so-retarded) compared to the current FireMice. I used to work closely with my friends and lovely teachers to lead the team to perform in various competitions and concerts…
Still remember vividly my couch / teacher that guided me to conduct the orchestra and music.
I would like to name him master Wong (黄鸿昌) the wolverine
I graduated after since and do alot of stupid stuff… which makes me not so serious and turn retarded…
I did return to the orchestra from time-to-time.. but I do this…..
I moved on my studies in UTM… I met some people that play music, but in a different way that further distorted my mind…
(Picture taken in UTM, pls read here for the full story)
5th May is also the birthday for Pancaragam Music Oriental of Catholic High School, in short it is called PMO.
Happy Birthday to PMO!!! I hope the young blood will continue the glory!!!

wow! daddy, you’re so famous. the audience kept calling your name after the performance ended. You’re so good in conducting, if you don’t work as retarded engineer then you may consider to be a conductor.
I am so envy the girls playing for the percussion group. Their hit are very fast. When i heard the drum’s tum, remind me the time i played 24 drums (24节令鼓) when i was in secondary school. I think my hands are not as fast as before.

Minching, these girls trained very hard on their wrist, which 24 drums doesn’t apply, it is the traditional chinese drum (proper ways of playing drum)….. it takes time to learn… btw, they have 扬琴 background.

Yes, i practiced in the percussion gropu for awhile when i still joining my school’s Chinese Orchestra. The hit skill is a little different with the one i play later. The drum stick is smaller than mine and have to compliance with the fingers. Please correct me if i am saying wrong. hehe.
