Strasbourg

Strasbourg is another must-go-destination in Alsace region (North-Eastern France). Whoever comes to visit me, I will bring them to Colmar then follow by Strasbourg. They might think I’m a expert or a native of Alsace, because I don’t need a map to navigate around these 2 area, I can story-telling about the history and events in Alsace so good so well that they didn’t even know I was actually bull shiting them…. pls let me continue bull shitting you in this post =)
Strasbourg is the capital of Alsace Region, it is hosting a few European institutions such as the Council of Europe (with its European Court of Human Rights, its European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines and its European Audiovisual Observatory) and the Eurocorps as well as the European Parliament and the European Ombudsman of the European Union…
See, all the important European thinggy is situated in Strasbourg, if one bomb dropped into Strasbourg, the entire European institutions will be vanished! Great fun..
Now, I brought some of my friends to Strasbourg by train. Most of them, when they came out from the station, they will have a WoW expression.
The train station itself is very old, they built a sky dome for the train station to protect the premises. The architect reminds you about China Beijing Olympic bird nest Stadium
Low Kei took a picture of me, I like the clear blue sky and the sky dome of the train station 一望无际,海阔天空。。。
Justin visited me during winter, the experience was totally different
The train station look like the Beijing Bird’s nest stadium is deposited with full of Bird Droppings =)
Strasbourg is not really a big town, it is very convenient to walk around, just like Colmar. The very first thing we arrived Strasbourg is to find the famous Strasbourg’s cathedral.
Well, it is very difficult to describe what I felt about the cathedral.
This cathedral is huge, bigger than Notre dame of Paris.
Look at the beautiful design, it is so majestic and beautiful…
I stood in front of the building, closed my eyes, in my mind I think
Thank god, I was not born during 1176 and 1439, imagine what will happen to this Cathedral if I was born in Strasbourg during 1176 – 1439 and was assigned to design and build the cathedral? (few example of my art at and.) I would have destroyed the whole masterpiece and no one will come and visit Strasbourg after 1000 years
Catheral of Our Lady in Strasbourg. used to be the tallest building in Europe between 1647 to 1874. It was so gigantic, I can just buy one ice cream near by and admire it from morning till afternoon, then buy one kebab sit down and look at it from noon till evening, from evening take a beer till midnight
Justin admires Strasbourg cathedral also
The color of the facade seems different, I loved it so much until I even..
licked at it and feel what it taste like, the conclusion is: Cathedral Our Lady of Strasbourg taste like 900 years old.
Old buildings in Alsace region are special
Strasbourg used to be an important town to produce wine
For those who wants to take a tour ride to visit the entire Strasbourg, I would suggest you to take a boat ride at River ILL
It will bring you around, around and around until you feel dizzy…
The ride story telling (not bull shitting ok!) everything nearby the river and Strasbourg. See the above picture, Low Kei was listing so intensely
The boat will pass by the European institutes..
The ride was long, we decided to cam whore
one is not enough, so we did another one…
We passed by Barrage Vauben..
.
stumbled upon a gigantic dog
you have to be careful, the dog bite everything that moves
Nearby there’s a Mega Virgin Store, I used to write a lot about Virgin
We walk around River ILL,
the river bed, 100 years ago, Many prostitutes tried to attract their client here. The house wives liked to wash clothes here.
I was exhibiting “the French” way to my friends
after all the wonderful experience, we went back to

Colmar and Bukit Tinggi

Some years ago, some business man from Malaysia went to France. He visited a small town called Colmar in Alsace. He duplicated Colmar and created Bukit Tinggi in Pahang.
I never been to Bukit Tinggi but I heard it is a very nice place to be visited. However, I’d visited Colmar city 4 times (Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring) since last year. Colmar remains as one of my favorite and the most sought after place to visit in France.
Colmar’s attraction are concentrated in its old town, stunningly beautiful and well preserved. What I like this place most is the relax ambient in Colmar, it is small a very small town hence you don’t need to rush from one place to another. Although Colmar is small, it has loads of interesting stuff.
Low Kei + Karen visited Colmar in the beginning of Spring.
There’s some shopping in old town Colmar, so tempting……………
One of the main attraction is Maison des Tetes (House of Heads)
Why do they name it house of heads? because the house has many heads
Where did the head come from? If you look at the opposite side, it explains everything
Nice houses.
ice cream too…
eat eat eat…
Nice Colmar beer
and famous Colmar pork knuckle.. yum yum
nice to shop… with low kei and Kalen..
and we came to Petite Venice, very very nice place
From here on, it turned into winter… and Justin came by
Justin teleported
me too..

but failed

Adopting Volcano victims is a fun thing =)

On 14 April 2010, Iceland volcano Eyjafjallajökull (pronounce as “AY-uh-fyat-luh-YOE-kuutl-uh”) erupted. It was mad and deadly, it impacted the entire Europe. The volcanic ash cloud led to the closure of most European airspace.
For me it was entertaining, because it is one of the unusual event that caught my attention haha =) … not until I received a sms from my friend low kei..
Low kei sms..
I’m now in Amsterdam, the Iceland volcano ash cloud has caused all the plane grounded, Kalen supposed to take off tonight but the flight was canceled. We plan to make a trip to your place. update you later…
This is not cool man, my first instinct prompted me go to Google and search for…
yes Volcano victims… and I found a lot of tragic photos like
.
.
I cried loudly like a baby at that instant moment
. My French boss helplessly asked me what’d happened?
I told him Eyjafjallajökull volcano will turn Low Kei and Kalen into you-cha-guai 油炸鬼 and Ham-Jim-Bang 咸煎饼..
turn them to…..
Obviously the French don’t know what is You-Cha-Guai 油 炸鬼 and Ham-Jim-Bang 咸煎饼.
My worried now is not how Low Kei and Kalen will turn into You-Cha-Guai 油 炸鬼 and Ham-Jim-Bang 咸煎饼, instead I was struggling to clean my room to welcome the volcanic victims. Because I need to hide…
and
Anyway Low Kei took train and reached Belfort safely…
.
The first thing Low Kei did in my room was to look for…
er… I think he was not looking for things in my room… I think he was cleaning it…
hmmm…. maybe we is not looking and cleaning, he is cooling…
Thanks to him, we cook for me for the last 10 days..
We took the opportunity to celebrate Kalen’s birthday with champagne =)
。
。
Low Kei took a picture of my handsome toy
Picture below summarizes all the activities in my room.
making distorting noises, hanging wet-clothing (only Asians will do that), messy stuffs, TV, walking around the room, everyone sardin together.
.
At night, I have to listen to…. low kei
please click below to listen to what I heard at night

Nice quote from Master Oogway
For some reasons, I love Master Oogway very much……. see the quote below
Oogway: There are no accidents.
Oogway: My friend, the panda will never fulfill his destiny, nor you yours until you let go of the illusion of control.
Shifu: Illusion?
Oogway: Yes.
[points at peach tree]
Oogway: Look at this tree, Shifu: I cannot make it blossom when it suits me nor make it bear fruit before its time.
Shifu: But there are things we *can* control: I can control when the fruit will fall, I can control where to plant the seed: that is no illusion, Master!
Oogway: Ah, yes. But no matter what you do, that seed will grow to be a peach tree. You may wish for an apple or an orange, but you will get a peach.
Shifu: But a peach cannot defeat Tai Lung!
Oogway: Maybe it can, if you are willing to guide, to nurture it, to believe in it.
Shifu: But how? How? I need your help, master.
Oogway: No, you just need to believe. Promise me, Shifu, promise me you will believe.
Oogway: [walking towards Po] Ah! I see that you have found the Sacred Peach Tree of Heavenly Wisdom!
Po: [Po turns around with a lot of peaches stuffed in his mouth] Oh! Is that what this is? I’m so sorry! I just thought it was a regular peach tree!
Shifu: But who? Who is worthy to be trusted with the secret to limitless power? To become the Dragon Warrior?
Oogway: I don’t know.
Oogway: One often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it.
Po: Maybe I should just quit and go back to making noodles.
Oogway: Quit, don’t quit? Noodles, don’t noodles? You are too concerned about what was and what will be. There is a saying: yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the “present.”
Shifu: Master! I have… it’s very bad news!
Oogway: Ah, Shifu. There is just news. There is no good or bad.
Shifu: Master, your vision. Your vision was right! Tai-Lung has broken out of prison! He’s on his way!
[pause]
Oogway: That IS bad news.

Po: What are you pointing at?
Oogway: The Dragon Warrior.
Tigress: Master, were you pointing at me?
Oogway: Him.
Po: Me?
[Moves around, Oogway's finger follows him]
Oogway: You.
Po: What?
Oogway: [Raising Po's arm with his stick] The universe has brought us the Dragon Warrior!
Po: What?
Tigress, Crane, Monkey, Mantis, Viper: What?
Shifu: What?
Mr. Ping: What?
Oogway: My time has come.
[hands his staff to Shifu]
Shifu: What? What are you…?
Oogway: You must now continue your journey without me.
Shifu: No! WAIT! You cannot leave me, Master!
Oogway: You must beleive…
Shifu: MASTER!
[in a haze of peach blossoms, Oogway ascends to the heavens]

Nuclear Plant in Malaysia?

Lately there’s alot of takings about Malaysia’s upcoming Nuclear Plant..
Isn’t it exciting for all Malaysian? We are going to have our very own 1Malaysia Nude Nuke plant. Our Media and people responded their unwillingness to adopt Nuclear Plant. I think it is fun for me to add a little bit of HuuHaa here pertaining to this issue (since I’m also a retarded energy engineer)
Reason for not willing to accept Nuclear as our additional power resources by most Malaysians?
- Devastating effects of nuclear technology atom-bombed during WWII in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
- The case of Three Mills Island in the US in the late 1970s.
- The Chernobyl Nuclear reactor disaster in 1986.
The above reasons were implied by our beloved parti-pembangkang Pakatan Rakyat in the parliament. I think our politicians are really good in history facts (they can only get it in wikipedia and internet) since they can memories all the dark events so well, but they lack of future orientated knowledge that strengthen their point to go against the government to build a nuclear plant. Hereby, I would like to pen down a few of my state-of-the-art-retarted-tips to the politicians that plan to go against the nuclear plant.
There’s no point to convince the government that Nuclear plant is actually very harmful to us because…….
.
Nuclear Plant is really GOOD!!
People who constantly implying the unpleasent historical events of nuclear plants are trying to convince us that the creation of Nuclear plants is a technology black-hole, It is the type of creation that human must dis-invent it. This is simply unacceptable. Why?
If I tell you history shows that there’s plenty of casualties in Aviation Business, can we stop people to fly again? Accident occured during construction period, can we stop people to build more houses? Internet create negative problems to the youth, can we stop people to serve internet again? Shopping make ladies to go bankrupted, can we stop them to have credit cards?…. cannot right? Nuclear plant is the same… with care and love we will have plenty of safe energy.
Our government got all the sweet-talks from the technology providers from various developed countries. Obtaining nuclear plant is a national pride because they are comparing to country like France whereby 76% of its energy generated from nuclear, China has plenty of nuclear plants and currently there are 9 in construction, Japan and Taiwan are using it… Owning Nuclear plant is a STATUS because it is the state-of-the-art-expensive-sophisticated-environmental-friendly-power plant.
Clearly It is the kind of projects that the Goverment can take Money from the people when they execute it, also it will channel out our money in a very fast manner.
Why?
Malaysia nuclear project lead time kick-off is 10 years, this was informed by the “experts”. European lead time is normally more than 10 years because they think building a nuclear plant is not easy and require a lot of feasibilities studies that will use up a lot of managment man hours to completed it, their government will personally involve in the planning stage whereby every details of nuclear plant erection + constrution will be very tedious. Construction standards will be set to a very stringent level. Construction period for a nuclear plant in Europe will normally take more than 10 years to complete (considering the fact that Europe has higher knowledge and experience of building a nuclear plant).
Now what if the above situation fall under Malaysian hands?
Who will commission the nuclear constructions?
What kind of standards will Malaysia come out with for the technology providers?
It is all $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
.
.
It seems that we all have forgotten another ambitious power project!
Which is
Bakun Hydroelectric Power Station
The highly anticipated Hidro Project that was supposed to be meterialized decade ago is now still undergoing. How much billions was spent to this project already?
Still the government want to talk about Nuclear plant when this shit is not finished yet?
In additional to that, lately they want to award Sime Darby to build the submarine cable to transmit the Power from East Malaysia to the West? which later proven that Sime Darby overun the proposed price by 1 billion ringgit. No need to say more.
.
.
Renewables
Besides Bakun project, how about our renewables program like Solar and wind? these are actually the real high-end energy solutions. Everywhere in the world, people are now focusing on Solar and Wind. But our government appreciate more on expensive stuff that brings no value.
Who are the people that approach Malaysia to build nuclear plant? US, France, Korean, China and many more.. these countries priority renewable energy like solar although they have difficulty in getting solar energy. But they intend to sell their unwanted/out-to-date technology to Malaysia when we can have abundant of solar, wind annually.
I would like to ask..

Which country has the most number of prestigious solar manufacturing companies in the world?
It is Malaysia! we have German Q-cells solar manufacturer (Putrajaya), First solar thin-film solar manufacturer (Kulim) from US, Sunpower from US (Melacca) and a few more coming. YAY!!
now ask again..
Which country has the most number of prestigious solar manufacturing companies in the world but have non Solar farm / Solar installed in large scale?
I can proudly say that it is Malaysia also.
.
Why does this happen?
Our government subsidises so much money in raw materials such as natural gas (main ingredient to make solar cells), petrol, export tax to attract ang-mo to invest in us to build solar cells. But we are adopting the unwanted technology from the ang-mo. At the same time The government cut down our subsidises and increase our living cost haha..
9 years ago FireMice did a not-so-retarded thing at this exact day and exact time
Few days ago me and my friend stumbled upon a Chinese music orchestra video clips. Which is 龙腾虎跃 (in English: Flying Dragons and Jumping Tigers), a famous Chinese percussion orchestra music. It was conducted by maestro Yan Hui-Chang 阎惠昌 and soloed by Chinese percussion master Yim Hok-Man 阎学敏.
Please enjoy the video below:
.
He then reminded me that I used to perform the same music shown above also… then I started to share with him what I did 9 years ago. Wow! 9 freaking years ago…
.
Then I realized it was happened at 5th May 2001, exactly 9 years ago!
Video below was shared by my friend Papaya 3 years ago! I never finished watching this video before because I felt irritated. But when my friend reminded me about this event a few days ago, it poured out all my secondary school memories.
(this video was taken 5th May 2001 , at Petaling Jaya Civic Center)
.
I didn’t watch the entire video, but I listen! it makes me think………hmm….
compare the current me and the baby FireMice 9 years ago in the vid. I think the baby FireMice 9 years ago was very serious (not-so-retarded) compared to the current FireMice. I used to work closely with my friends and lovely teachers to lead the team to perform in various competitions and concerts…
Still remember vividly my couch / teacher that guided me to conduct the orchestra and music.
I would like to name him master Wong (黄鸿昌) the wolverine
I graduated after since and do alot of stupid stuff… which makes me not so serious and turn retarded…
I did return to the orchestra from time-to-time.. but I do this…..
I moved on my studies in UTM… I met some people that play music, but in a different way that further distorted my mind…
(Picture taken in UTM, pls read here for the full story)
5th May is also the birthday for Pancaragam Music Oriental of Catholic High School, in short it is called PMO.
Happy Birthday to PMO!!! I hope the young blood will continue the glory!!!
Why I think Chinese will change the world economy
I decided to pen down this Chinese thingy because this has been bugging my work, life, politics views, my country and my identity.
The majority people of the world seems to have very negative thinking about Chinese people. Many thought that the Chinese are creating problems to the rest of the world, Chinese is the problem to the pollution, Chinese are rude, Chinese are smelly, Chinese are cunning, Chinese destroy the economy and etc…
Recently me and Low Kei were humiliated and ill-treated by a French waiter in a French restaurant. Additionally I experienced a series of disgusting Chinese issue in my company that sparked my head to create this post. Furthermore, I was inspired by one of Ahyap.com‘s post with regards to What’s so special About Chinese?
.
Why “Chinese” issue is making drastic impact on my work and company now?
I’m working for a French power plant provider company as a subcontracting/tendering engineer (the retarded kind of engineer that is not so good in technical know-how) in France. The name of the company is Alstom, which I can proudly say that it is one of the prestigious power plant provider company in the world.
Being a tendering engineer allows me to understand some of the commercial business decisions made by the superiors (the asshole people
). I noticed most of the business movements had tuned to be more competent in order to compete against the Chinese. Eventually a few business units were created exclusively to compete with the Chinese.
Now what did the Chinese do?
Not long ago, Malaysia Alstom country president presented the volume comparison of power plants built by Alstom against the competitors. His slides was something like this (not exactly the same).
The power plant built by Chinese Dong Fang is relative more than the sum of power plants produced by the competitors. Not only Dong Fang perform exceptionally well oversea, they make the other key players cannot compete in China market (the numbers of power plant erected in china is relatively higher than the rest of the world for the past few years) .
What I found about Dong Fang Electric Corporation 东方电气集团 in Belfort:
According to some of the old people in Alstom, DongFang used to be the subcontractor to Alstom to build mega plants in China 30 years ago such as nuclear and Steam. From there, they tried to learn everything from scratch to produce their own equipments. Alstom used to laugh at their incapability and Alstom had to complete DongFang’s half successful work and equipments like Generators and Turbines. Now they are the major threat to the key players like Siemens, Alstom and GE
.
My experience with the Guai Loh 鬼佬
We all know that the Guai Loh possess ‘expensive blood’ compared to Asians. They think they are the central of the world, they are the most sophisticated races in world. Needless to say, their working man hours is very expensive, they don’t really care about cost saving when they try to do business, they have to respect their individual lifestyle and so on… hence their Europe business profit normally is not good, Asia for them is very lucrative.
Now, their focus is on Asia market now. They even created a funny term for that! It is called… ROA business (Rest-Of-Asia business). Why they called it Rest-of-Aisa business but not A business (Asia business)? ROA means excluding China but include the rest of Asia because simply they can’t do Chinese business anymore. Lately I found out ROA will exclude India further.
Rest-of-Asia market is not an easy market for them. The major challenge now for these European company is to drive down their cost by more than 50%, because China is attached to ROA, and the Chinese sales man likes to knock on customers door and promote their extremely cheap product. No doubt, European equipments and solution has high efficiency, but the customer mindset now is to have cheap model with average performance but bankable solutions.
So, my job now involve in cost savings and apply construction procedures that shows significant cost savings! a lot of time I need to involve myself in the meeting with all the Guai Lohs to discuss the feasibility of different kind of solution

Because I am the only Chinese and Asian in the table hence I always encounter situation like this-
Guai Lo:
We have to compete with the Chinese! So We now must use the cheap CHINESE equipments!
But we know that Chinese people are STUPID and DUMB! if we buy these equipment from them, most of the time they can’t provide user manual for us! they are just too stupid to do good documentation!
Chinese people are lousy, and they are cheap, we can give them little money and complete the work
Chinese efficiency is poor!
after they uttered all the ugly words, then they will turn to me and ask… are you China Chinese?
what do I do? I have to humbly + calmly + stupid shack my head like this…
, to please them
well inside my heart, I remember vividly ……
Yes, It was like a slap in the face to the Chinese….
How I wish I can jump onto the table and scream to them
FireMice:
中国人不是东亚病夫!
Chinois ne sont pas l’homme malade de l’Asie!! (French)
Chinese are not the sick man (cowards) of Asia!
Their ideas are not really impressive, because they think in order to compete with the Chinese, they have to source cheap materials and equipments from the Chinese. In the end, it is like finding Chinese to kick Chinese Ass… they forgot one thing, everything is Chinese.
.
The World doesn’t understand us!
Chinese are now hungry of success, it seems that the most of the rest of the world still don’t understand Chinese and its capabilities.
Chinese lived in the dark for a period time when the other part of the world especially the West was growing fast to distinguish themselves as superior beings. But this is only noticeable for the last 50-100 years I think?
But Chinese has 5,000 years of ups-downs. The problem that the Chinese are facing now is only a tiny peak of an iceberg
. It can sink the TITANIC down with your adorable Guai Lo Leonardo Dicaprio. Making a drastic changes in mankind history for Chinese is sap-sap-sui easy…
Don’t estimate us because in our BLOOD, we have a series of important stuffs started from thousands of years ago…. from the Confucius 孔子 to ….. First Emperor of china Qin Shi Huang 秦始皇…. to Journey to the West 西遊記….. to the romance of the 3 kingdom in red cliff
…. to the Art-of War by Sunzhi….. to the Legend of the Condo Heroes 射雕英雄传… to Bruce Lee….. 2008 Beijing olympic….. and now Jackie Chan..
.
.
I’m sure we have more to come… thumbs up to Chinese!
